Policy 305: Assistants to the Principals

305.1 Positions
In order to assist the building principal in carrying out the responsibilities of the office the Board may elect, as need is established, one or more assistants to the principals, each of whom shall perform such duties as may from time to time be assigned to the assistant by the principal.

305.2 Qualifications
The qualifications of an assistant principal shall be the same as those for the position of principal.

305.3 Appointments
The assistant principals shall be appointed by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools for a one year contract period.

305.4 Functions
Assistant principals shall perform all those duties and activities as designated by the principal, subject to the policies of the Board of Directors and the Superintendent of Schools.
