Visual Arts

Greetings! My name is Ms. Haffner and I am the Visual Arts Instructor at the Mount Pleasant Community High School. I attended college at the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) and graduated in 2000 with my BA in Studio Art & K-12 Art Instructor certification.

Throughout the past 10 years, I have enjoyed teaching Art at every grade level, from Pre-K to college courses. It’s amazing how the human brain functions and how the motivation to create, regardless of age, remains constant!

My favorite method of Art production consists of using unusual and innovative materials, such as using adhesives for texture or painting via printmaking. I also thoroughly enjoy working with traditional media and persisting to mastery.

There are several opportunities for students to exhibit their work during the school year and we would love to see you there!
