I teach 7th grade Language Arts here at the Mt. Pleasant Middle School.  I studied English at the University of Iowa and teaching at Iowa Wesleyan College.  I began my career teaching junior high and high school English at Louisa-Muscatine.  My husband and I live in Wayland, and we have three boys and three girls, of which only our youngest daughter, a sophomore at Waco, is still at home.  Whew! We also now have five grandchildren! I chose to teach not only for my love of books, but because of my compassion for teens.  Junior high kids are at a tough, but rewarding time, and they only get to be there once.  I never stop feeling blessed to have a part in their learning process.  Please feel free to contact me at any time at the Middle School at 319-385-7730 or at gina.dexter@mtpcsd.org.
