Hello! My name is Jean Holtgrewe. I am a 4th grade teacher at Van Allen Elementary School. I am a native of Mt. Pleasant, graduating from MPHS, before receiving my BA in elementary education from Iowa Wesleyan College. Teaching children since 1978 has brought me great joy and keeps me young. I believe children need a safe, caring learning community where they can develop friendships and a hunger for learning. When I am not in the classroom I love to tend my flower gardens and read. My family enjoys spending time together following University of Iowa Hawkeye sports.
