i-Ready/Classlink FAQ

At the elementary level, our teachers are going to provide 3 continuous learning opportunities in both reading and math through iReady every week during our school closure.  These are opportunities for your child(ren) to participate in work to review, practice, master, and enrich the learning that has occurred so far this year.

There are a couple of options for accessing these online learning opportunities.

  1. Access Classlink/iReady via PERSONAL iPad
  • Download the ClassLink app and the iReady app
  • Open the ClassLink app
    • Our district name will auto-populate as an option - choose our district
    • You will not need to do this step the next time you log on
    • Start typing the district name at the top (Mt. Pleasant)
  • Log in to ClassLink one of two ways
    • If you have a QR code from your child’s teacher, choose login with a QR code and hold the QR code up to the camera on the iPad.  If you don’t have a QR code, you can request one from the teacher.

OR

    • Choose “Sign in with Google” to use the student’s school Gmail and password.  If you do not know your child’s email and password, please contact his/her teacher.

  • If you do not have a computer or iPad, you can request an iPad through the district.  Click on link Device Request and that will open the form to request a device.  Usually devices are ready within 24 hours Monday through Thursday between 1-3PM. Tami Herr will contact you via email when your device is ready.
  • On a personal iPad, you must download the iReady app and ClassLink app as they work together.  You will not open the iReady app that you downloaded.
  • If you do not have access to the internet, there are many companies that are offering free or discounted internet services.

What is i-Ready?

i-Ready online lessons provide students with explicit instruction, practice, and feedback that allows them to learn a skill while promoting a growth mindset. The lessons also include a short, scored quiz to help you, your child, and your child’s teacher know how they did. Lessons are based on research on effective online learning practices and are tested extensively with students to ensure they engage learning of all abilities and ages.

Note that during typical i-Ready use, lessons are automatically assigned to students following a Diagnostic in Mathematics to address their identified individual learning needs. This will continue for math, in addition to lessons that have been manually assigned by your child’s teacher. Given these extraordinary circumstances, we have been given access to the Reading portion of i-Ready. Your child has not taken a Reading diagnostic, and for this reason, will solely be using Reading lessons that have been manually assigned by your child’s teacher.
